Island Artisans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1976 to raise scholarship funds for young artists within the community. The holiday market is the primary fundraiser for those scholarships. It is a juried show and sale by San Juan County artists, with each participating artist donating 10% of their sales to support the scholarship program. More than $15,000 in scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors annually.

To the many new residents on the island, Chardonnay Shopping is an annual event where we shop on a specific day to support our local businesses and restaurants. Most of the businesses and restaurants entice shoppers with special discounts and or extended hours, and or drawings with purchase and or snacks and beverages. Many people get a small group together and wear fun holiday hats or something festive to identify themselves as Chardonnay Shoppers. Some choose to start in the morning and then go to lunch at their favorite restaurant and then continue shopping. It is very fun to act like a tourist in your own town and to see so many locals out and about.

The Old-Fashioned Christmas Market will light up historic Brickworks again this year!  The popular event features a holiday crafts market, island food vendors, local farm products, live music, local libations, and activities for kids and grownups alike. Festivities will take place over two days; Friday, December 12th from 10am-7pm, and Saturday, December 13th from 10am-3pm.
